Aloha my wonderful merfolk!
With it being a month of festivities, I thought I would do a Christmas edition of my Alternative Disneybound series. If you don’t know what Disneybounding is, you can check out Leslies tumblr here and her Instagram here.
So, without further ado, let’s sing a Christmas Carol and Disneybound our way through the festive season!
The Ghost of Christmas Future is always depicted as being darker and more gothic due to the nature of the character. It is this character that shows Scrooge that he will die a lonely old man if he does not find the Christmas in his heart. Grey or black dresses work brilliantly for this Disneybound. Alternatively, if you are not a fan of dresses, a pair of black skinny jeans a grey top or blouse will also do the job. For a casual look, wear flats ankle boots. If you want to glitz up the outfit, team it with a pair of studded heels. Choose your bag and accessories depending on the occasion you are Disneybounding for.
This Scrooge look leans more towards a Steampunk style outfit. Team black skinny jeans with a white frilled blouse and pussybow bow or bow tie. A tweed or brown blazer and a pair of matching brogue will finish the look off. Finally add some gold coin like jewellery and you have something to represent Scrooges favourite thing.
Tiny Tim has to be one of my favourite characters from A Christmas Carol. He is the character that always gets me crying, even though I know how to story ends. Tie Disneybound is another that could appeal more to the Steampunk wardrobe with all of the browns and more Victorian style items. You could swap out the brown mini skirt for a midi length bustle skirt, teamed with a white shirt and matching brown blazer. Any pair of brown boots will match this Disneyboumd, however if you are aiming for a more Steampunk look, try mid calf boots with buckles on.
This Disneybound is the Nutcracker from the Nutcracker Suite – a Disney version of this is part of Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse. This can be a simple Disneybound to do as all it takes is a pair of black skinny jeans, a pair of knee high boots and a white blouse or shirt. A red blazer, cardigan or military style coat for winter will finish off this look. Add walnut or golden jewellery to add a final flair.
Nightmare Before Christmas
Finally, we have Sandy Claws from one of my favourite movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Striped jeans, or if you’re not into the massively bold, a plain pair of black skinny jeans, teamed with a black top or blouse and a lovely red cardigan or jacket. A pair of black ankle boots will give this outfit a casual look, or a pair of heeled boots or courts will make this outfit fit for a Christmas office party. Simply use a more formal cardigan or a red blazer, swapping out the shoulder bag for a lovely bag handbag.
Will you be Disneybounding this festive season? Have you already Disneybounded as a Christmas themed Disney character in the past? which of the above Disneybounds was your favourite?
