Blogmas #12: Leeds Christkindlemarkt

Aloha my wonderful merfolk!

One of my favourite aspects of Christmas is visiting the German Market.

Before moving to Leeds for University, I had never visited a German market before. However now, I couldn’t go a Christmas without visiting one. The feeling is always so festive and happy and it just gets me into the Christmas spirit! I try and visit more than once during December.

I thought I’d take a trip and get some photographs to show you what our Christmas Market offers!

All of the cabins that sell food, drink and handmade are always beautifully lit up at night. Even the beer tent is in on the Christmas lighting.

There are so many stalls that sell hand made gifts for yourself or for a family member or friend. I may not always purchase items from the market but I always love to walk around and have a look at the beautiful things they sell!

So the past two years, there has been a snow globe outside of the market where you can climb in and get your photograph taken.

Of course it’s Frozen, why wouldn’t it be Frozen?

I didn’t get my photo taken inside of it as I wasn’t willing to pay the price for it, but at least it looks pretty … for the second year in a row. Seriously, let it go now.

I love the German Market and it has very quickly become a yearly tradition for me to visit at least once. As long as I live in or near a city,  I shall visit their Christmas Market!

Does your city have a German Market? Or would you travel to another city to visit one?

a mermaid be waiting for you, in mysterious fathoms below – Scariel.
