My Top 5 Disney Animated Sequels!

Aloha my wonderful merfolk!

Today, I bring you another Top 5 post. Although the last one was full of tough choices, I really enjoyed writing it and couldn’t wait to write my next. Today I bring you my Top 5 favourite Disney Animated Sequels. This topic could bring about some controversy. Many people like the animated sequels, however just as many, if not more, are not so keen. I am of mixed opinions. Some are better than others and some are just terrible.

Here, I wittle down the fab from the fodder. Can I call aspects of Disney fodder? Perhaps not.

5. Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch

This is the only sequel to my beloved Lilo & Stitch that I have seen and I really enjoyed it. There aren’t as many Elvis classics in this movie which is sad but still, the soundtrack is pretty cool. One of my favourite bits is Stitch’s selfie whilst Lilo beats up Mertle. Highlight.

4. 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch’s London Adventure

I watched this for the first time last year and I actually really enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure if I would because I treasure the original but I thought it was really cute and I would definitely watch it again.

3. Cinderella 3: A Twist In Time

This is possibly the sequel I watched most recently for the first time and I love the switch up in the story. I sometime love the villains in movies more than the main characters, so to see the Cinderella storyline applied to the Tremaine’s was a fantastic idea for a sequel. Although it’s not as good as the original, I still love to watch it.

2. The Little Mermaid 2

Of course The Little Mermaid 2 had to make an appearance on this list. I know some may be shocked that it’s not my favourite, but it’s a very very close second to first place. I love the songs and the storyline idea. When I was younger, I was Melody. I loved going swimming and going to the seaside; collecting shells and pretty pebbles from the beach. I loved sea life and so, I related so much to this film as a child.

1. The Lion King 2

I think this was the first sequel to an animated classic I saw and I’ve loved it since the start. Zira is a great villain and her song is absolutely fantastic! Actually, the music throughout this sequel is just awesome!

There are a couple of other animated sequels that I enjoyed that didn’t make this list, but I had to narrow it down to my favourite five.

Do you enjoy any of the sequels? Which is your favourite if you do?

  1. I don’t mind the sequels. Like you said some of them are good and others are mediocre but as I’ve not watched any of them for ages, I’ll stick to being indifferent.

I did however always like The Little Mermaid 2 and The Lion King 2. The Lion King 3 (or 1.5 as I prefer to call it) was always funny to watch as well. I watched the Timon and Pumbaa cartoons when I was little and really enjoyed them so it was great watching the first film from their perspective. And there are a lot of hidden mickeys in that film too! Another one of my favourites was also Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp’s Adventure. The relationship/friendship between Scamp and Angel was always really sweet and the film’s message about family really sticks with me.
