Aloha my wonderful merfolk!
It’s been a while since my last instalment of my Disney Era Tag. I apologise. Recently I have not had very much spare time in order to blog but, I am back and I plan to stay.
So without further ado, let’s start the latest installment: The Renaissance Era!
The movies in this era are: The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan.
1. Any unseen films?
The Rescuers Down Under – I’m not entirely sure why but I’ve never seen this one.
2. What is your favourite film of the era?
This is such a difficult one as I grew up with all of these movies and loved them all so much. It’s a tough tie between The Little Mermaid, Tarzan and Mulan. If I have o choose though, The Little Mermaid.
3. What is your least favourite film of the era?
I’m going to cheat a little bit and say Rescuers Down Under because I haven’t even really been compelled to see it yet, in 24 years of being alive. A cheat I know, I’m sorry!
4. Who is your favourite main character?
Another tough one. I love Ariel but I also love Mulan and Pocahontas too!
5. Who is your favourite villain?
Ursula; she’s just so fabulous!
6. Who is your favourite sidekick?
Meeko or Mushu, darn this is too difficult!
7. What is your favourite song?
Hellfire; it’s so chilling, just fantastic!
8. What do you consider to be the most underrated film of the era?
The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I think this is a beautiful movie with fantastic music!
9. What is your favourite thing about this era?
It’s the era that I grew up with. I watched these movies over and over when I was a child in the 90s and Mulan was the first Disney movie I saw in the cinema.
10. What did you least enjoy about this era?
The Lion King has emotionally scarred me and I still can’t watch it without crying. I even cried at Mufasa’s death whilst seeing The Lion King in the West End!
