A 1970s Vixey Disneybound featuring ModCloth

Aloha my wonderful merfolk!

This weeks Disneybound post is such a challenge for me. I very rarely wear colour, which many of you know, but one colour I don’t wear ever is orange. It is not a colour I believe I suit. So, when it came to choosing a character from The Fox and the Hound to create a Disneybound for, I decided on Vixey; the female fox who Todd falls in love with. Naturally, a perfect choice and challenge for me.

On looking at the decades of the past, I thought her colour scheme matched the fashion of the 1970s particularly well. The 1970s was a time of hippies and the generation where teenagers rebelled against their parents and starting taking their lives into their own hands. It was a very colourful time. So, I thought it suited Vixey quite perfectly!

First, let’s have a look at Vixey:

Now for my 1970s Vixey Disneybound:

This orange 1970s dress I found on eBay and is apparently, originally, from ASOS. It costs £22.00. With this being from eBay, there is only one size which is a size 8. However, this is only a guide blog post so you can see other peoples ideas and bring your own spin to the Disneybound. Knee high socks were very popular in the 1970s and you can find loads of different pairs on Amazon for very cheap.

These black block heels are from ModCloth and just scream 1970s. They’re also flat enough that you’d be able to wear them in the Disney parks and still remain comfortable. When it came to finding a handbag, I looked for orange bags to match the dress, fox bags for the character but when I came across this Fox and the Hound VHS handbag on Etsy, I knew I had to include it. You can find this design and many others at HeatherbelCreations on Etsy.

Both of these lovely accessories come from ModCloth. The first is a pair of earrings that come in a set of three. They’re $12.99 and you can find them here. This fox necklace is only $14.99 and you can find that here. With ModCloth being an American website, you would have to be aware of possible customs charges and extortionate delivery charges to the UK when placing an order.

Once again I’m featuring Barry M nail varnish for this Disneybound. These are in the shades Cotton and Satsuma. You can find them here.
