Aloha my wonderful merfolk!
We all have those Disney films that we remember watching over and over when we were kids. For me, one of those movies was Oliver and Company and for a long time, this film was important to me. I hold some pretty decent memories attached to this movie and today, I am going to share them.
This post is a collaboration with the wonderful Hoodsie from Duffy Does Disney. If you haven’t read Hoodsies blog before, you should by clicking the link here.
One of my first memories of this movie is sitting and watching it with my cousins. This was back when my family were a lot closer then they are now. I don’t speak to these cousins now and haven’t for a long time but I still have a good few memories of watching movies with them. I was the middle cousin so I would hang out with my older cousin (who was a couple of years older) and my younger cousin (who was a couple of years younger). I have memories that me an my younger cousin were inseparable when we were kids. We would watch Disney films and act them out. The family may no longer talk or get along as well as back then but it’s a memory I cherish and one of the reasons I loved this film so much.
When I was a child, I had the 101 Dalmatians Sing Along Songs on VHS. Also known as 101 Notes of Fun:
On this VHS, Why Should I Worry and Good Company were two of the songs included. I used to rewatch this video all the time. The Sing Along Songs videos were some of my all time favourite ones to watch. They weren’t too long and if you weren’t 100% on the lyrics, they were there on screen. 101 Notes of Fun had some amazing songs on. Below are the two from Oliver and Company.
These are only a couple of reasons why I love Oliver and Company but they are two of the best memories I hold for the movie. Memories from your childhood can be some of the best and happiest and the easiest to hold onto.
