An Oliver & Company 80s Inspired Outfit

Aloha my wonderful merfolk!

I decided to try something different when it came to my fashion post this week. Instead of a Disneybound, I want to find genuine Oliver and Company merchandise and use that in an outfit. With the film being released in the 80s, I feel like I should do an 80s inspired outfit.

So, let’s see what I’ve come up with!

22. Oliver

I found this amazing, vintage Oliver and Company t-shirt on Etsy, sold by a store called VintageRhino247. Best part about this is it’s only £12.14 not including shipping. How good of a deal is that for a Disney t-shirt from the 1980s? I’d team the t-shirt with a pair of mom denim, high waisted shorts, like these ones from Amazon. True to 80s style, I would tuck the shirt into the shorts but allow it to slouch and be baggy.

I remember this trend carrying on into the early 90s; wearing slouching socks where the material gathered above the top of your trainers. These slouch socks are just from Amazon and come in a pack of 6. Reebok was a big brand in the late 80s and early 90s and these wonderful, 80s looking high tops were found on Amazon. They’re not cheap but they capture the 80s essence brilliantly.

In the 1980s, the side ponytail was a very popular hairstyle. You can see what I mean by clicking on the link here. These velvet hair bobbles are from Amazon an come in many colours. For this outfit I would go with orange to match with Oliver on the t-shirt. I would then team this with a pair of orange hoop earrings, also from Amazon.

a mermaid be waiting for you, in mysterious fathoms below
