Aloha my wonderful merfolk!
As many of you know, I went to Disneyland Paris for the Halloween season in October 2016; specifically for the Halloween Soiree. However, there was one thing I chose to do o that holiday that I will remember forever. I met my favourite Disney character; Ariel.
Today, I want to share the story and some photographs with you.
November 2nd 2016 was our final day of our Halloween trip to Disneyland Paris. All week I had avoided the Princess Pavilion as the queues were massive and I felt there were other things I would rather do with my time. It was the Wednesday afternoon, we only had a few hours left in the park before we needed to start our journey home.
We had decided to a lap of the main park to take in the sites and say goodbye. On passing the pavilion, we noticed Ariel was meeting and greeting guests and the wait time was only one hour. At that moment, I decided that I really needed to meet Ariel on this trip and a one hour wait time was nothing compared to how long we had needed to wait for other things. So, we got in the queue for the pavilion.
Overall I think we waited about an hour and a half in the queue but luckily, the pavilion is quite pretty and so we had quite a bit to look at.
When we got to the front, the cast member asked us if we were English or French. We replied English and were then led to the entrance of the meet and greet. As I got to the doorway, the cast member saw my bright red hair and told me I had the exact same colour as Ariel. This of course made me feel very happy.
I walked in and immediately felt like I was going to cry. I was meeting my favourite for the first time. Ariel told me she loved my hair colour and I told her how happy I was to meet her.
Ariel then asked what colour tail I would have if I were a mermaid. I answered purple because it’s my favourite colour after black and I think it would make for a pretty tale.
Finally getting to meet Ariel was one of the highlights of my Halloween trip. She is my favourite princess, my favourite character and I am so glad I walked past the pavilion that afternoon and saw her name on the sign.
It’s obvious by my face how much this meet meant.
a mermaid be waiting for you, in mysterious fathoms below.
