Rescuers Down Under Concept Art

Aloha my wonderful merfolk!

We have come to another week dedicated to the adorable characters of The Rescuers stories. This week may be a challenge for my as I have already done one week dedicated to the story of Bernard and Miss Bianca however, I am up for this challenge.

Today, I am going to share some of the wonderful concept art for the movie, The Rescuers Down Under. This was the first animated sequel to be a part of the Disney canon. It was also the only sequel to be released during the Renaissance era.

Firstly, let’s have a look at some art work created by Glen Keane:

The next set of art is by Artist John Alvin who creates beautiful pieces for companies to use as promotional artwork.

The below sketches were created by Fred Lucky. Fred was a newspaper cartoonist who was brought to Disney to help design the characters for the first movie.


Frank Thomas also explored some character design:

Ollie Johnstone, a very well known Disney artist also created some concept art for the movie:

I also found some random concept art and I am not sure who the artist is to credit. Doesn’t make them any less beautiful however:
