The Lion King at Disneyland Paris: A Collab with Stepherella

Aloha my wonderful merfolk!

Disneyland Paris is one of my favourite places to be on earth. It’s a magical place where I am always happy. There is something for everyone, something to make everyone happy.

Today’s post is a collaboration with the lovely Steph from Stepherella. The Lion King is one of her favourite movies, so who better to collaborate with for The Lion King week? Today, I will be talking about the entertainment side of The Lion King at Disneyland Paris. This will include parades and shows.

If you want to read about restaurants and character meets then go visit Stephs blog and give her post a read! A lot of the photography in this blog is also hers as she has been lucky enough to visit the parks since the 25th celebrations began. All of her photography will be linked and credited.

Stars on Parade

Stars on Parade is the new parade at Disneyland Paris. It was introduced to the parks in March of 2016 ready for the 25th anniversary celebrations. The Lion King features once again in this parade with a new float. The float is rumoured to have been borrowed from Hong Kong Disneyland but still, it’s a brand new float to Disneyland Paris so I am happy with this.

It’s a bright and colourful float and of course, features the ever cheeky Timon and the wonderfully wise Rafiki.

Illuminations

Illuminations is another addition for the 25th anniversary celebrations. It is the nighttime firework spectacular that happens nightly on Sleeping Beauty Castle. This is the show that replaced the wonderful Dreams nighttime spectacular. The Lion King has a three minute sequence during the show with projections on the castle and fireworks.

Mickey and the Magician

Mickey and the Magician is the one Lion King related entertainment in the post I have seen. I manged to get into a performance on my trip back in October of 2016. At first, when I heard Animagique was closing I was sad as I had wonderful memories of that show. However, Mickey and the Magician had me so emotional and invested in the story, singing along and truly enjoying myself that it is an amazing replacement.

If you are heading to Disneyland Paris later this year, the show will return for another run and I absolutely suggest you go and see it. The magic is phenomenal and the show is purely heartwarming.

I love Disneyland Paris and I am so excited to return in November and see all of the new shows and entertainment. Again, if you want to read all about the restaurants and character meets of Disneyland Paris, go visit Stephs blog and show her some love.
