Aloha my wonderful merfolk!
Brother Bear is one of those Disney films that has some wonderful characters, however they get over shadowed by the fact the film is disliked by so many. Personally for me, this film is so sweet and so heartwarming and the characters play a really big part in that. Today, I want to share my top three favourite characters from Brother Bear.
3. Rutt and Tuke
Rutt and Tuke, voiced by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas respectively. They are the comic relief of the movie and a lot of their jokes and quips are incredibly funny. They do pull on the Canadian stereotype quite a bit which could be offensive to some, but as I’m not Canadian, I cannot decide that. For me, if you take Rutt and Tuke for what they are, their comedy is brilliant.
Tanana is the leader of the tribe that Kenai is a part of, prior to his becoming a bear. She is your typical funny older lady character but Tanana will always hold a place in my heart. She’s kind but firm and is the one that helps guide Kenai through his transformation and life journey.
1. Bear Kenai
There is a reason number one is bear Kenai and not just Kenai. Human Kenai was not a good person. Fair enough he was young and only knew what he had been taught about bears. However, once he is turned into a bear, he learns a valuable lesson. He lives his life through the eyes of the animal he has hated and he has hunted. Spoiler alert but I love how in the end, Kenai chooses to remain a bear in order to look after Koda.
