A Mother Gothel Disneybound

Aloha my wonderful merfolk!

Mother Gothel is one of the more scarily real Disney villains. She pretends to be a mother, pretends to care for Rapunzel in order to get to the magic trapped in her hair. Sh uses Rapunzel, keeps her locked away in tower with no real idea about the world outside or her real heritage. This for me, makes her terrifying. She’s manipulative and cruel. She is a truly wicked Disney villain.

Today, I thought I would do a Mother Gothel Disneybound, this time for a more dressed up occasion. I’ve done plenty of park suitable Disneybounds so this time, I wanted to do something different.

First, lets have a look at Mother Gothel:

Now, let have a look at what I have chosen for this Disneybound

Firstly, I chose this beautiful wine coloured Bella dress from Lindy Bop. I love anything vintage inspired and I feel like they can always be worn for an occasion that involves a little more effort. I have teamed them with these faux leather, wine heeled courts from ASOS.

This beautiful velvet heart bag is from CollectIf Clothing. I feel it represents Mother Gothel perfectly. It matches her dress and her heart was only ever concerned for herself. I also chose this Mya Cape, also from CollectIf Clothing, as when Mother Gothel leaves to find the shells for Rapunzels paint, she wears a black cape. It would also keep the chill off on Autumn/Early Winter nights.

For that little bit of Disney magic, I found this Mother Gothel cameo brooch from My Hoard on etsy and this glittery Mother Knows Best necklace from Life is the Bubbles, also on Etsy.

Nails wise, I chose this Barry M nail varnish in Ruby Slippers. Mother Gothel has pretty neutral make-up so I chose this Get Shapey Brow and Eyeshadow Pallette, also from Barry M. Use one of the darker colours on your lids to match Mother Gothels.

a mermaid be waiting for you, in mysterious fathoms below
